Although I am trained and able to help with most issues that would bring you to therapy, I tend to see clients struggling with trauma, burn out and stress, anxiety and depression, and those questioning their gender identity. I provide individual and group counseling, extended sessions, called “marathon” sessions, EMDR intensives, and supervision, and consultation for other providers.

I use HIPAA-compliant software, called SimplePractice. The system sends you a reminder 24 hours prior to your appointment, and then once again about 10 minutes before your appointment. You’ll click the link within the reminder to join your session. The telehealth program works on computers/laptops, smart phones, or tablets. Sometimes there’s a need to download the app. It’s important that you make sure to have decent internet speed and a private space to feel comfortable (even if that’s your car!).

I accept OSU and Ohio Healthy insurance. I can provide a “superbill” for you to send to your insurance to get some of what you pay reimbursed using your ‘out of network’ benefits. I accept check and all major credit cards as forms of payment, including HSA, FSA cards.

Whether you are being seen in-person or virtually, you will be included in every step of the process from defining your goals to setting the pace.

During the initial session we go over any house keeping and paperwork information. Then I either ask a bunch of questions or you can take over and do the talking! We get to know each other, what brought you in, and where you want to go in therapy.

Unfortunately, this is a close to impossible question. Most individuals attend one weekly sessions for a period of months. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on many variable. I am able to offer EMDR intensives and “marathon” sessions in order to speed up the process.

I have to say, I am not a big medication pusher and research would support medication alone can’t solve all problems. However, medication does is treat the symptoms, which does make you feel better in the immediate. The work we do together is designed to dig in to the root of issues and learn strategies needed to resolve the reason for the symptoms.

I will however say that medication can be effective and is sometimes needed in conjunction with therapy.

Unfortunately, no, at this time I am not eligible to write ESA letters due to the Social Workers Board requirements. I can however connect you with some local therapists that are able to assess for ESA.
